About the KA100

  • The IAME KA100 is a world class engine manufactured by IAME.
  • The IAME KA100 is a 100cc air cooled Reedjet engine specifically designed for Karting Australia, and is intended to be taken to the world market by IAME.
  • The bottom end of the engine has the robustness of a 125cc engine while the cylinder and head are made to 100cc specification, providing a relatively unstressed and reliable power plant.
  • Engine weight is 22kg including all components and accessories. It is compatible with all chassis', is easy to operate and maintain with long life between rebuilds and freshen-up maintenance.
  • The IAME KA100 engine is able to be used in both Junior and Senior classes with the minor change of swapping the exhaust manifold.
  • The engine power can be reduced or increased simply by using or not using the exhaust restrictor.
  • The IAME KA100 Reedjet is cost effective to purchase and race requiring no Blueprinting.
  • Everything a competitor needs to put the engine on their kart, just add a battery. (Battery currently supplied with engine free of charge, no warranty).
  • There is nothing more to buy (apart from fuel) before you race it for the first time.

Carburetor Base Settings (From Remo Racing):

KA3 SENIOR (Open)

  • Low Jet: 1 hour - 1 hour 10 mins
  • High Jet: 1 hour - 1 hour 5 mins
  • Inlet Spring: 31-37 gram (8-11psi pop off depending on spring)
  • Lever Height: Top of lever flush with metering body

KA3 JUNIOR (RESTRICTED)(Type 3 Restrictor)

  • Low Jet: 1 hour & 10 mins
  • High Jet: 50-55 mins
  • Inlet Spring: 31 gram (8-9psi pop off)
  • Lever Height: Top of lever flush with metering body

TIP: A higher pop off pressure will generally require a richer setting on the low jet to give the engine enough fuel off the turn. As a result, due to the efficiency of the low jet circuit, this richer setting will deliver too much fuel in the mid range RPM causing the engine to feel sluggish. Therefore it is recommended to avoid using a very high pop off pressure
